Asian-American MixFest | Atlantic Theatre Company

I had the pleasure of taking part in House of Joy, by Madhuri Shekar, a staged reading featured in the Asian-American MixFest at Atlantic Theatre Company! What a dream do be able to do this at the end of my first month here in New York City. The Asian-American Mixfest is a festival of all new works by Asian American playwrights, and featuring many Asian-American actors. My director, Saheem Ali (The Public Theatre, Julliard, National Black Theatre) was a hilarious, buzzing force to make the very stylistic, and edgy contemporary piece come to life. What an honor to be able to work alongside some of my favorite playwrights: Rajiv Joseph, Lloyd Suh and many other fantastic voices in theatre.
